MEET YOUR INDUSTRY
We live in a dynamic time for talent acquisition and training. Whether a company's on the edge of brand-new technology or has found its niche in a lesser-known area, recruiting team members with perfectly-aligned job experience can be a struggle. New hires often bring skillsets that are applicable to their roles, but lack knowledge of the industry they're joining. A good learning team fills that knowledge gap early and often.

I truly enjoy industry training. It helps team members orient their work within the company's mission and business objectives, i.e. the why behind their day-to-day tasks. Industry knowledge is also super interesting, and gives team members a sense of mastery over their role that increases job satisfaction.
Here are a few examples from an Industry Basics path I designed for the advertising technology (aka adtech) field.
Learning Path I structured, wrote and designed for team members new to the industry.

Post-training Stay in the Know recommendations. I share these resources to empower team members to gain a wider view into the advertising ecosystem:
-
eMarketer subscription - many employers offer it for free to team members
-
LUMA Partners - a mergers and acquisitions firm with excellent industry content.
GO-TO-MARKET
I've worked in several product-focused environments. The go-to-market (GTM) function is one of my favorite areas of the business to support. In learning, our role is primarily to equip internal team members with the knowledge and resources they need to explain, sell, and optimize new releases.

I've created a few sample deliverables that demonstrate my typical work in the GTM cycle:
GTM Learning Plan created for use with learning team members and cross-functional partners. Click to view full document.
Shell deck for live training, virtual or in-person, used withTier 1 or 2 releases. Major changes to the product often require introductory training for multiple teams. Built in Canva. Click to view full deck.
